Announcing Establishment of The Cary Rothe Fund

In early September, 2008, the local HR community lost a great friend, supporter and colleague with the passing of Cary Rothe. The River Valley Human Resource Association has established the Cary Rothe Fund to recognize the many contributions that Cary made to our organization, and its predecessor, the Human Resource Exchange (HRX).  Cary was a founding member of the Human Resource Exchange, and a leader in networking and mentoring long before those became formalized business practices.  Cary was a mentor and "connector" by nature, so it seemed most appropriate to establish a memorial fund that would honor Cary's passion by supporting relationship building and mentoring within the Human Resource profession.

Donations can be sent to:

P. O. Box 4168

Please note on the check memo line "Cary Rothe Fund."

Is your membership expiring or are you interested in becoming a member??

It's never too late to send in your annual membership renewal or become a member of the River Valley Human Resources Association (RVHRA) for membership year 2008-2009!

We are extremely pleased that RVHRA has continued to grow and improve as a SHRM chapter bringing local HR professionals together for outstanding programs and networking opportunities. The three RVHRA locations, of Lebanon, Claremont, and the Northeast Kingdom, provide a chance to improve knowledge and skills, participate in hot topic educational programs, meet fellow HR professionals, participate in, and have access to, Connecticut River Valley wage and salary information, and become more aware of what other individuals and businesses are doing to improve as they serve their employees and clients. Members may attend programs free at any of the three locations.

We look forward to your continued involvement and participation in the RVHRA. If you know anyone who you think might also be interested in joining RVHRA please pass along membership information to them or give us their names so we can contact them. Instructions for payment of dues are included in the application form but if there are any questions, ideas, or concerns please contact me any time. Thank you again and I hope to see you at an upcoming meeting.

Networking Opportunities

During the course of our monthly meetings, members are encouraged to ask questions and bring topics of discussion to the group. We find this a wonderful opportunity to learn what other HR professionals are doing in the Upper Valley. In addition, our membership e-mail list allows for members to do mini-surveys on a variety of topics.

Programs

We offer a variety of programs with topics dealing with current issues such as:

Human Resources and the Law * Strategies for Rewarding Employees * Training * Legislative Update * Compensation * Employee Benefits * Housing * Healthcare Issues * Workplace Violence

Local Compensation Survey

As a member of RVHRA, you can participate in the design and the content of the local compensation survey. Greater Upper Valley HR professionals value this survey because of the realistic picture it provides when determining their companies’ pay structures.

Directory

A directory of all RVHRA members is provided annually.

The River Valley Human Resource Association (RVHRA) represents the best and the brightest of the human resource profession.
